Area ✧ presentably unique little town, with its two deep rivers and buildings hanging over it crossed by old bridges; certainly it has its fair share of empty shops but several projects underway to reinvigorate, several streets repaved with greenery and better layout, an abandoned 1700m2 building 5mins walk is being converted into a tiers-lieu with indoor japanese garden, resturant and uh just 23m2 of coworking space
indoor market close
✦ good coffeshop, bars and restaurants; organic bakery
✦ some grasy riverside garden, and a big public garden with tress
climate is temperate with lots of rain (much more than England heavier over similar number of days, but more sun), nicest Jun–Oct which is rather short, nonetheless makes it very green and lush (unlike the south east!) but one has to be ready to take advantage of shower-free periods; given the otehr benfits I'm not covinced this is a bad thing as those with flexible timings simply work on less inviting days
nearby coliving - Maysou holds community gatherings and could coordinate for events and outings
15mins on lanes to a hillside walk but really requires a pickup to be interesting; possible 2h walk along river and back on other side via devils bridge; better 10mins drive
✦ 10mins bike to long gentle tracks through fields and woods with many variants, along river, or 15mins to good hills; many more options with quick train
✦ 30mins train to bedous for good mountains
✦ 30 mins train to very nice little city of Pau (last 8:30pm) with lots of gardens and some novelty, although 10mins stroll and wait each end nontheless this is part of the outing
massive indoor rock climbing gym at door; tennsi 10 mins bike
✦ rafting and kayaking at the door, canyoning and climbing not far
✦ 50mins drive mountain peak/spanish border for bike descents, a bit further for canfranc of which the train tunnel may reopen one day
✦ bus to nordic skiing but only 1500m

Property ✧ decrepit but wouldn't take much effort to be usable indeed some windows are old double-glazed
✦ south-west facade onto lane needs stripping and repointing but easy as low
✦ roof probably okay but when it needs repairs would be tricky as multiple sections, main section (most along front) is modern slate, rest is old rough slate (most on back extension)
✦ 2 floors plus decent attic with skylights in new slate section/ 1 dormer in old
✦ 1st floor has 5 windows along street but only brief sun around midday; would easily convert to 5 ensuite bedrooms; plus prob a couple more with shared bath and a bunch of pods in attics, with all of ground as common
multiple sections probably difficult to replan but does have some south facing windows
✦ one section could be converted to a roof terrace
✦ 15–20m2 of terrace could be used as orangerie
✦ 120m2 usable footprint *2 +60m2 attic
✦ 52m2 grassy terrace at back and south facing view over gardens
